10/11/2008 - Entity Data has begun a deployment of new infrastructure in preparation for the release of Windows 2008 VPS Virtual Servers in early 2009. The new servers (DELL 2900's) are Quad CPU (4 x 4 Core Xeon's) with 32 Gigabytes of memory. The servers are multi-path SAN connected and will be configured in clusters allowing live stateful failover of Virtual Servers in the event of a physical hardware failure. Many large customers have already pre-ordered Windows 2008 VPS's and Entity Data is moving to ensure the VPS platform is solid and mature by the time of release.
23/06/2008 - Entity Data has signed a Virtualisation deal
with Parallels (Formally SWsoft) and has deployed a new multi-million
dollar infrastructure based on the companies Virtuozzo Containers product. The new solution replaces the long standing XenSource
servers and brings some amazing enhancements in the way of
performance, high availability and automation. The new solution
has already been welcomed with open arms by many customers who have
been asking for more control over their Virtual Servers, the new
solution provides that control by use of Parallels Power Panel and
Parallels Infrastructure Manager, a web based utility that can be
used for a wide range of management tasks from starting/stopping the
VPS through to updating the operating system and applications.
But better automation and control is just the beginning, the new
solution increases high availability with live inter-site failover of
VPS's using clustering and replication technology. increased
performance due to VPS's having direct access to the physical hardware
through the host Operating System's kernel and improves considerably
on backup capabilities, standardisation and centralised updates of
Operating System and Application templates.
11/02/2008 - Entity Data has developed a new proprietary traffic
statistics web portal based on Cisco Netflow technology to replace the
old SNMP based system. The new stats portal provides customers
with highly accurate traffic statistics representing traffic flows
inbound and outbound per IP address as the packets pass via the edge
routers.
26/11/2007 - Entity Data has partnered with ClamAV for advanced
email virus filtering on our mail cluster. Hosting customers now
receive the benefit of in-depth scanning of all incoming and outgoing
mail by specialised and dedicated clustered servers. When emails
are received from mail servers on the Internet the messages are
immediately injected into the cluster for scanning, it is here that
the email is highly scrutinised at lightning fast speed before being
handed back to the mail server for delivery. The system will
even decompress and scan attached compressed/zipped files for any
potential threats, and can do this in just a few seconds.
"Thanks to ClamAV and our engineers we have one of the best email
virus filtering solutions in the country" says Mitchel Pope --
Managing Director, Entity Data Pty Ltd.
22/11/07 - Entity Data has deployed a centralised hosting platform
called EXPAND, created by SWsoft. The highly advanced solution
is designed to create a central access point for managing and
accessing the entire hosting farm. For example a customer who
hosts four web sites with us and has those web sites on different
physical servers can manage ALL FOUR from a SINGLE WEB INTERFACE.
